Emma was along for one such run with me recently and was just sick and tired of getting into the car, and out of the car and walking through stores. She was just over it! Even though she was tired, she was a real trooper and was being as sweet as she could be. So at one of our last stops I bought her a donut. She was so tickled with that donut. And as you can see went straight for the frosting! I had a mess to clean up afterwards, but she was happy and had a nice nap on the way home. All's well, that ends well. So when we found a nest of mice he insisted on keeping them. He found a little pot to put them in, and cared for them all day! We'll spare you the closer in picture, but he was so tickled with them. He cares for any animal he finds, we have had to teach him which snakes that he can touch. Not only is he a real boy, but he has such a caring heart for every creature whether it's a creature that others don't like. He reminds me of God's care for all creatures. Spring is in the air and one of the things we enjoy doing is hatching chicks from the eggs our chickens lay. The children love to watch the process, and we get to enjoy the cute balls for fluff for a while. before they grow up and join the egg laying team. We had two dark colored ones hatch and they quickly became the favorites! There is just something about the hatching of a chick that is awesome and facinating. When you watch the chick break it's shell and struggle to break free, it teaches me that not all struggle in life is bad. I need to trust the process and not panic, but push through the obsticals at hand. What struggle in your life do you need some persistence to break through?
